What is Path 32 on the Tree of Life? · Tav and The World

From the course Living the Tree of Life · Part 2: The Paths with Evelynne Joffe

This clip is from Lesson 1, Path 32 · Tav · The World, which runs 40 minutes. Walk all twenty-two Paths of the Tree of Life, from Path 32 to Path 11.

About this video

In this clip from Class 1 of Living the Tree of Life · Part 2: The Paths at Global Spiritual Studies, Evelynne Joffe, Director of the Institute of Esoteric Studies in Melbourne, opens the twenty-two Paths with Path 32, the first step up the Tree, from Malkuth, the physical world, to Yesod, the unconscious. The Sephirot, she explains, are the objective realities, and the paths are the subjective experiences of moving between them.

Evelynne names the Path's Hebrew letter, Tav, and its Tarot card, The World. Then she describes how we come to walk it: while Malkuth is working well we have no reason to leave our comfortable burrow, until an illness, a death, the loss of a job or a shock shakes our little box and we set out on a perilous journey. If we can sit in that unknown place, with help in understanding what is going on there, we come out of it much richer.

The full course climbs all twenty-two Paths across twenty recorded classes, from Path 32 to Path 11, with each Path's Hebrew letter, its text from the Sefer Yetzirah, its Tarot card and its myths, and two live Q&As with Evelynne for the 2026 Cohort. Class 2 continues to Path 31, Shin and Judgement.

We only walk this path when our here and now has been shaken. The Sephirot are the objective realities, and the paths are the subjective experiences of moving in between the Sephirot.

So, Path 32. The Hebrew letter is the letter Tav. The Tarot card is the World. We are travelling from Malkuth, the physical world, the here and now, to Yesod, the unconscious.

If our Malkuth is working well, and we have no reason to wake up one day and say, oh my goodness, what’s the meaning of life? Or why is this happening to me? We will not move out of our comfortable burrow.

One day, something happens in our ordinary life, a life where we haven’t ever questioned anything. It could be an illness, it could be a death, it could be a loss of a job, it could be a shock. And we wake up and we say, what’s going on? My life, my little box that I live in, is shaking up. It’s not comfortable anymore. And we then start on a perilous journey.

So if we are able to go into this unknown place, this place that isn’t safe, and is difficult, and where we find all these monsters, and if we can sit there and have help in understanding what is going on there, we come out of this place much richer.
