We examine the meaning of spirituality and how to use Tarot cards to teach us spiritual lessons, and as a focus for our contemplation upon Divine guidance.

In this class, we look at the major philosophical and religious traditions throughout history whose influence and confluence emerged as the 78 cards of the Tarot. Art and symbolism merge in the imagery of each card to directly communicate spiritual wisdom to us.

Class 2 – Biblical Roots of Tarot

Little-known is the fact that most of the Major Arcana cards (as originally developed in northern Italy) have images specifically drawn from the Roman Catholic Church of the Medieval and Renaissance periods. The mere fact that the Tarot has a trump titled ‘The Devil’, a character and name unique to Christianity, signals this connection.

In this class, Katrina shows the connection between images on each Major Arcana card and biblical sources and stories originally intended to educate the illiterate common people of the Medieval and Renaissance periods, about life and spiritual values.
